The Existential Psychoanalytic Institute & Society is a contemporary and forward-thinking

psychoanalytic institute that is not fettered and enchained in theoretical and clinical dogma.

While rigorously examining the historical past of psychoanalytic thought, EPIS and its members think philosophically, use critical theory, phenomenology, and other abstruse disciplines to chart a course forward for understanding the human and human subjectivity. Why is this important? There is plenty of evidence that humanity continues to suffer and continues to make individual and collective decisions that increase that suffering. We believe that psychoanalysis can ameliorate the human condition, but there is much work to do in this area. The EPIS group hopes to contribute to this work.
